We provide accommodation in our friendly, well kept family home. We are more than happy to receive guests and hope that when you leave, you go as friends.

Villa Pio is situated near Cong village, location of the film 'The Quiet Man'.

We are blessed with a beautiful area of woodlands and natural scenic area, perfect for walkers and those enthusiastic about the outdoors.

Our home is less than 3km from the lovely village of Cong and is very close to the Connemara countryside, which offers breathtaking scenery, a tranquil setting in which time stands still. Also nearby is the 12th century castle and hotel Ashford Castle. A walk among the grounds is a must for any visitor. We are also within easy reach of Lisloughrey Lodge Hotel.

Fishing

Cong village is situated between the lakes Corrib and Mask making it a haven for fishermen from all over the world. Boats and engines are available for hire from your hosts.

We are situated only minutes from Lough Corrib, the largest lake in the Republic, which provides wonderful fishing oppurtunities all year round. Popular methods include fly, spinning, worm and shrimp.

Good river fishing is also nearby on the famous river Cong which runs quickly into Lough Corrib at Cong village. The village itself is only a 2 km drive from 'Villa Pio'. There is an excellent salmon run in April as well as June and early July. Great brown trout fishing at the beginning of the season which tends to slow a little from mid-June into early July, but begins again in earnest in mid-August.

The mayfly hatch, which occurs around 20th May, has been described as a real highpoint in the season and the mayfly fishing lasts for nearly a month.
